Beth wnaeth eich ysgogi chi i gefnogi Elusen Aloud drwy ein cynllun Calon?
“I’ve been lucky enough to be involved with The Aloud Charity for more than 10 years. I was aware of the fantastic work Tim Rhys-Evans was doing with choral singing through Only Men Aloud and when I began to understand what Tim was trying to achieve with Only Boys Aloud, I wanted to support them.
I was asked to be a trustee of The Aloud Charity and then became its Chair for five years. I saw at first hand how being part of OBA can transform the lives of so many young men and boys so it was natural for me to want to join the Calon scheme to do whatever I could do help the Charity fulfil its ambitions.”
Beth yw’ch uchafbwynt chi am waith Elusen Aloud?
“So many highlights!
Britain’s Got Talent; seeing OBA perform at Buckingham Palace; the many Academi performances especially at Wigmore Hall, London.
The biggest highlight is seeing the way The Aloud Charity has grown and developed over the years with Only Kids Aloud; Only Girls Aloud and today we see Only Boys Aloud choirs in south, north and west Wales – a truly national organisation.”
Beth fyddwch chi’n ei ddweud wrth rywun sy’n ystyried cefnogi elusen fach fel Elusen Aloud?
“The fact that it’s a small charity makes every penny count. With very little public funding, The Aloud Charity has succeeded in punching above its weight thanks in large part to the dedication of the staff and volunteers but also because all of us who support The Aloud Charity make a real difference, helping it achieve its huge ambitions to transform lives through choral singing.
If you’re in any doubt, go to a performance. See and hear for yourself the way choral singing offers friendship, community, support, discipline and life-affirming joy. You won’t regret it.”
