Calon members are the beating heart of The Aloud Charity. We simply would not be able to deliver Only Boys Aloud, Only Girls Aloud, and Only Kids Aloud without your generous donations.
In the sixth article in our giving series Calon Member Erich Huber tells us why he supports The Aloud Charity:
What motivated you to support The Aloud Charity via our Calon scheme?
“I really liked the whole concept of The Aloud Charity, transforming young people’s lives through choral singing. What Tim Rhys-Evans has brought to life here is simply fantastic; the opportunities it gives young people to learn new skills, grow in confidence and build lifelong friendships…
That’s the reason why I support this great charity and by joining the Calon scheme I‘m able to do so on a regular basis. It’s like being part of this family, and it’s a real pleasure to be.”
What has been your highlight of The Aloud Charity’s work?
“For me personally, the biggest highlight was the opportunity to be present at the recording of the recently released CD “Gen Z” and to meet the people who work for The Aloud Charity. To see the dedication and joy of all choir members, staff, and volunteers involved was just great. It reinforced my belief that participating in the Calon scheme was absolutely the right decision.
But there are other highlights, like their 10th anniversary concert in Cardiff. Hearing them performing live is a completely different feeling than from a CD or via YouTube. Or the launching of Only Girls Aloud, which included girls in the Aloud family.”
What would you say to someone considering supporting a small charity like The Aloud Charity?
“Small charities in particular, which receive little public support, rely on the help of a broad range of people. It is important to remember here that participation in one of the choirs is and should remain free of charge. To keep it that way, The Aloud Charity needs support.
The Aloud Charity has huge ambitions with choirs across Wales and supporting them to achieve its ambitious goals is a worthwhile cause. You’ll never regret it.”
