I’m Sara-Alis: originally from North Wales but now residing in London. With a first class honours BA degree from Cardiff University and a recently completed MA in Arts and Cultural Management at King’s College London, I am delighted to be joining the Aloud team!
After completing my BA degree in 2018 I successfully applied for the Creative Internship programme at Arts & Business Cymru. During this intense six-month internship, I undertook the role of a trainee fundraiser which involved writing funding applications, forming relationships with funders and digital communications. I soon realised that working within arts development was the ideal role for me and continued in my role as Fundraising Officer for nearly two years.
In 2020 I successfully enrolled on an MA in Arts and Cultural Management in London. This varied course broadened my skillset, enhanced my knowledge of the art sector in the UK and deepened my passion for the arts. Having only recently completed the course, I am now looking forward to apply this knowledge and delve back into arts development, and that with such an inspiring organisation as Aloud.
As a member of a Welsh youth choir for over 10 years, I have seen at first-hand the transformational potential that music offers. I am also an avid gig-goer and love experiencing live music across Cardiff and London. Aloud’s commitment to artistic access also resonates with me; my recent MA thesis explored equal representation in the arts sector. Joining Aloud as Bid and Content Writer therefore seemed like a natural choice for me and I cannot wait to start playing an instrumental part in realising Aloud’s transformational projects.
