Q&A with Sam

In December 2023, The Aloud Charity welcomed Sam Holt as our new Community and Challenge Event Coordinator. In this Q&A, Sam tells us about how he has been finding the role so far and what we can look forward to in the year ahead:

How has your first month in post been and what have you been up to so far?

My first month within Aloud has been amazing! I have used the time to get to know my fellow staff members and to really get to know Aloud. I have eagerly been planning Aloud’s initial challenge events and I am very excited to be unveiling them in the near future! I have attended choir events and I am looking forward to attending more as they are such an amazing experience.

Tell us a bit more about your role and what we can look forward to in the year ahead

Within my role I will be organising challenge events to help fundraise for Aloud to help fund future projects so that we can keep offering amazing opportunities to young people across Wales. In the year coming we are hoping to launch plenty of exciting challenge events. I can’t say anything just yet but keep an eye on our social media and the newsletters that go out! My role also covers a lot of the community aspect within Aloud meaning I will be assisting with the development of programs and making sure that the Aloud community stays a place that everyone can belong.

What drew you to the role at The Aloud Charity?

The role was recommended to me through a friend who had been part of the Aloud choirs, so I’d heard amazing things about Aloud. I’d already been looking for an opportunity within challenge events and community co-ordination so when I was told about the role I was over the moon. The fact that I got to do something I’m passionate about whilst also raising money for charity at the same time, I couldn’t ask for more!
