OBA MEET ROYALTY!

Performances

On Thursday 18th of January 2018, 4 members of Only Boys Aloud who are current first year students at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, had the privilege of signing for Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle on their first visit to Cardiff together.

Hundreds of people gathered at Cardiff Castle to greet the Royal couple and after spending an hour chatting to the visitors outside, the Royal couple made their way into the Castle for a taste of Welsh culture and hospitality.

The four boys – Rhys, Callum, Tomos and Harvey – treated the Royals to the OBA rendition of Calon Lân (what else?!) with our Artistic Director, Tim, on the piano. Prince Harry and Ms Markle enjoyed the performance very much with Prince Harry telling his bride-to-be of his appreciation for Welsh singing – “You are only going to hear the best singing in Wales,” he said.

Needless to say it was an unforgettable experience for the boys, one that will stay in their memories for years to come.
