On the 27th and 28th of February, members of the Only Boys Aloud Academi travelled to London as part of Wales Week in London. On Wednesday evening, the boys sang in a reception at an exclusive private members club in Pall Mall and were lucky enough to be given a tour of the historic building.
On Thursday morning, the boys went to Westminster to perform as part of the St David’s Day celebrations. The highlights were singing Calon Lân to the Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow, performing at the beautiful Chapel of St Mary Undercroft as part of the St David’s Day service and performing at a reception in the Jubilee Room.
As part of the reception in the Jubilee Room, the guests were treated to a taste of Wales which included Bara Brith from Penylan Preserves, Welshcakes from Calon Lân Cakes and Welsh cheese from Snowdonia Cheese Company. Thank you so much to these companies for their generous donations to the day – the guests were delighted!
