We did it! The Aloud Charity Album

News

After ten weeks of Crowdfunding, your support has enabled us to go ahead and start recording a brand-new album in 2022 to celebrate our 10th anniversary!

With an ambitious goal of £10,000 set to record a new Aloud album, we are thrilled to announce that we have exceeded our target and raised an astonishing £14,410 through online and offline donations.

Featuring a beautiful medley of traditional Welsh songs, musical theatre tracks along with some pop hits, this CD will celebrate the captivating voices of Only Boys Aloud, Only Kids Aloud and Merched Aloud Girls. We will now start preparing for our recording sessions which will take place later this Spring.

We are so grateful for the support we have received over these past two months, with donations coming in from all over the world. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who generously supported the campaign and made this album a reality.

Along with our 10th Anniversary concerts in July, making this album is a perfect way to highlight the charity’s work over the past ten years and celebrate every choir member’s talent and enthusiasm.

Our Chief Executive, Carys Wynne-Morgan said: “We are delighted to have reached our 10th anniversary as a charity. It’s a great testament to the hard work, commitment and passion of the staff, volunteers, singers and supporters over the last decade. It feels fitting that we celebrate this milestone with two anniversary concerts in July as well as the recording of a new album that showcases all of our choirs. Thank you to everyone who has made the last 10 years possible and I look forward to what we can achieve together over the next 10 years.”

From receiving national acclaim by finishing 3rd place on Britain’s Got Talent, performing in Ypres (Belgium) to mark the life of Welsh poet Hedd Wyn, to reaching over 30 million views online for Only Boys Aloud’s rendition of Calon Lân, we are incredibly proud of all our accomplishments as a charity.

Our engagement reach has expanded over the years so that we now also work with children and girls through Only Kids Aloud and the pilot project Merched Aloud Girls, ensuring that any person in Wales who wants to sing has the chance to do so.

A huge thank you once again to everyone who has supported our work over the past decade, and to all who have donated, supported and shared our campaign posts. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to provide unique opportunities to the young people of Wales.

We hope you enjoy your prizes and rewards once the album is released later this year.

Diolch yn fawr!
