To celebrate International Women’s Day on 8th March, we met up with Amber Davies: OKA alumnus and choir assistant at our new Merched Aloud Girls project in South Wales. As a charity primarily led by women, we are thrilled to finally be engaging with young girls on a monthly basis. The pilot project started in November last year and we are so thrilled with how the girls’ voices have developed in such a short amount of time.
Watch our interview with Amber below:
Along with learning a varied and exciting repertoire, rehearsal also includes guest talks by successful women across Wales with the aim of inspiring, boosting aspirations and self-confidence. It is very important that girls have strong and resilient female role models to look up to. The talks so far have been so inspiring, and we look forward to welcome more in the coming months.
Merched Aloud Girls will be heard on The Aloud Charity’s new album, and they will be making their debut performance in our 10th Anniversary concerts in St David’s Hall. Buy your tickets here.
