Cardiff University Internships: Introducing Taranna

News

I am Taranna Tabassum, an aspiring social development and communications expert with a background in working for non-profit developmental organizations. I’m excited to start at The Aloud Charity as a Communications Intern and inspire young voices across Wales.

I come from Bangladesh, a country where development rate is on the rise, but there’s still a long way to go. Having witnessed the transformative power of music first-hand, I believe it holds a special key for young minds. It’s a language that transcends borders, ignites creativity, and builds confidence – the perfect ingredients to empower the next generation. Aloud’s work perfectly aligns with my desire to contribute to social development and make a real difference.

Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Arts in Journalism, Media, and Communication at Cardiff University, a journey that began in September 2023. Before this, I completed my Bachelor of Social Science in Media Studies and Journalism from the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) in 2022. Throughout my academic career, I have cultivated a robust background in social media research, communication, and community engagement. When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me with a book in hand, exploring the latest podcasts, or being lost and finding myself in the world of music!

During my previous insight as a Research and Community Engagement with The Aloud Charity, I witnessed first-hand the positive impact of our programs. This experience solidified my belief in the power of community-driven efforts to foster positive change. I am excited to continue this journey, utilizing my background in journalism and communication to amplify the voices of those we serve and to highlight the remarkable work of the charity.

Now as a Communications Intern, I’m eager to dive into projects that amplify your message, connect with diverse communities in Wales, promote our presence on social media and ultimately, help Aloud reach even more young voices.

Here’s to an amazing journey together, helping young children in Wales discover their voices and unlock their potential through the magic of music.
